Landlord offers award for £7,000 of stolen jewelleryFriday, 2nd July 2004 (3976 views) A landlord from Scunthorpe has offered a £500 reward to anyone with information, after £7,000 worth of jewellery was stolen from his flat. The Thai gold jewellery belonged to his wife and consisted of intricately patterned chains, bracelets, a pendant, several rings and earrings. Unfortunately the loss is more than just financial, with many of the pieces holding sentimental value. Jim Swanson told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "Some of the pieces were given to her by her mother, so it was worth more to her than the value in money. "I'm prepared to offer £500 to anyone who can give us or the police information which leads to a conviction and the jewellery being found. It is very unusual jewellery and you can't buy it in this country, so it would stand out quite a bit." Mr Swanson explained the pieces are a different colour of gold and the designs are very unique. It is believed the thief knew exactly what they were looking for since only the jewellery was taken and a purse.
