Friday, 18th June 2004 (4039 views)

An important collection of jewellery has gone on display at the Decorative Arts Museum in Paris.

The collection will showcase around 1,200 priceless pieces housed in the jewellery gallery of the museum, which is the largest of the three Le Louve museums, and marks the gradual reopening of the popular museum.

The exhibition will be open to the public from June 22nd and includes items dating from antiquity through to 2004, according to the International Herald Tribune.

Founded in 1877, the museum has been closed for extension refurbishment since 1996.

However, it is expected that the reorganisation and alterations will be fully completed by the start of 2006.
