Friday, 11th June 2004 (5639 views) Jewellery has formed part of a collection of items once belonging to Katharine Hepburn that have raised £1 million.<BR/><BR/>A brooch given by Ms Hepburn's boyfriend at the time Howard Hughes, sold for £70,000 at a Sotheby's auction where 222 items were sold.<BR/><BR/>Leila Dunbar, director of Sotheby's collectibles department told the Scotsman: "We are absolutely thrilled with the results from the first session ... but it is completely understandable given Miss Hepburn's worldwide celebrity and stature."<BR/><BR/>Other items included furniture, studio photographs and acting membership cards.<BR/><BR/>The auction for the deceased Academy Award-winning star attracted around 400 bidders and offered an insight into the life of someone who was immensely private.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=2806443"/>
