Japanese gold firm promotes extra service approach

Monday, 10th May 2004 (3962 views)

A leading Japanese bullion house has highlighted the advantages of offering additional services when selling gold.

Tanaka Kikinzoku Jewelry offers gold to its customers as more of an investment and sells gold jewellery and artefacts.

However in addition the company also supplies a range of services - refresh, repair, reform or recycle, for old gold items bought in by customers.

Masakazu Tanaka, director and chief of the firm's sales planning department told Daily Yomiuri Online: "I believe we're one of only a few businesses that provide a variety of precious metal-related products backed by extensive services."

The company has produced items such as commemorative gold medallions for the Olympics and its founder is well known for promoting 18 carat and 24 carat gold in Japan.

Designs are "simple and solid" and "fully convey the metal's value" with products based on what customers want rather than simply fashion trends.

With the most popular items selling up to 100,000 yen the store also holds seminars to educate people about the precious metal.
