Friday, 7th May 2004 (5771 views) A new jewellery collection by one of the fastest growing fine jewellery firms in the world has started to be sold in China.<BR/><BR/>In a new deal between global retailer Carrefour and LJ International, jewellery adorned with coloured stones is being sold in hypermarkets in China.<BR/><BR/>'We're pleased to report that the initial sell-through of our products at Carrefour has exceeded our internal expectations, and that our coloured stones are popular with Carrefour shoppers, ' said Yu Chuan Yih, Chairman and CEO of LJ International<BR/><BR/>"Carrefour has long specialized in these jewellery lines, but the China retail market is a relatively new area of focus for selling such products," the chairman added.<BR/><BR/>The agreement is the latest venture by the company in its moves to expand in China.<BR/><BR/>LJ International opened its first showroom in the jewellery district of Hong Kong in January this year.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=2573110"/>
