Signet reveals golden sales figuresThursday, 6th May 2004 (4043 views) Jewellery company Signet Group have revealed positive first quarter sales results this week.The firm has seen group like-for-like sales increase by 8.7 per cent from February 1 to May 1. Group Chief Executive Terry Burman told Reuters: "The group has had a strong first quarter...including an exceptionally good performance over the Valentine's Day period." UK sales which include jewellers H Samuel and Ernest Jones, saw a 6.7 per cent rise in like-for-like sales for the period. Approximately two thirds of Signet's retail stores are based in the US with names such as Jared the Galleria of Jewelry and Kay Jewelers. Total group sales for the quarter stood at £344.5 million up by 11.5 per cent.
