An Australian jewellers collection has been turning heads at the Mercedes Australian Fashion Week.

Sarina Suriano's designs left models covering their bare bodies with carefully placed gold jewels.

Ms Suriano told the Sydney Morning Herald: "It was about bringing diversity to the catwalk. I don't claim to be a martyr in any sense but I really would like in the future fashion week to show a lot more diversity."

The attention grabbing jewellery can still be worn by everyday people according to the designer.

Designs proved popular with the UK's Selfridges and New York's Elizabeth Charles both expressing keen interest.
