Basel's proves popular with jewellersWednesday, 28th April 2004 (4426 views) Proving increasingly popular the BaselWorld Watch and Jewellery Show experienced high visitor numbers and offered a host of new collections this week.The most dominant jewellery seen at the show was yellow and white gold items, with size and colour the key trends, according to IDEX Online. As well as showcasing the latest items, Basel also held a number of discussion panels and seminars. Another change noted in the industry was the move from jewellery to watches for a number of companies or adding them to jewellery offerings. A number of jewellery companies now use the event to plan new business and discuss the latest trends. The 32nd edition of the show saw a 38.8 per cent increase in visitor numbers to 89,350.
