The International Spring Trade Fair 2004 will take place at the Dubai International Exhibition Center (DIEC) next month, organisers have announced.

The 29th edition of the five-day event will open on May 2nd and will feature over 200 exhibitors, according to Al Fajer Information and Services, the Dubai-based leading exhibition organizer.

Mr Satish Khanna, general manager of Al Fajer Information and Services, said: "Over the past few years, the International Spring Trade Fair has earned the reputation of being the most successful regional trading platform and this year also we are confident of living up to the tradition by having a successful show."

He added that, as in previous years, China will lead the show with more than 75 participants followed by first-time participants Russia with 20 exhibitors, ten from Morocco and ten from Iran. Other countries showcasing their products and services include Hong Kong, Turkey, Italy, India, Indonesia and Malaysia, as well as around 20 from the UAE, AME News reports.

ISTF 2004 this year will showcase a range of consumer goods, including gold jewellery, clothing and electronics. The show is expected to record the highest ever turnout of trade visitors due to the current upbeat economic conditions in the Gulf region. Last year's show attracted 30,137 visitors and organisers are predicting as many as 35,000 visitors this year.

Al Fajer has launched a massive media campaign to promote the show in the Middle East in abid to attract more trade visitors to the show. The campaign includes advertising in the press and online in the region of the Gulf, Middle East, Iran, North Africa and the Indian Sub-Continent.
