Actress Kim Basinger is selling all the stunning fine jewellery her former husband, Alec Baldwin, gave her.

The Oscar-winner is keeping only her wedding ring and will put the rest of her jewellery from actor Baldwin under the hammer at Christies in New York, in aid of the Performing Animal Welfare Society.

The sale includes a Tiffany engagement ring worth an estimated $40,000, given to Basinger on the set of The Marrying Man. The ring features a 3.7-carat diamond mounted on an 18-carat gold band.

The 50-year-old star was married to Baldwin for nine years and the couple divorced in 2002.

The actress's spokeswoman, Annet Wolf, said: "It's a good cause. And how many women do you know who wear their ex-husband's jewellery after they've divorced?"
