Cookson has confirmed that it is launching its French precious metals brand in the UK.

The move means that a range of popular gold jewellery will go on sale for the first time, including a range of exclusive 18 carat goldware.

The firm says it will be offering necklaces, bracelets, bangles, earrings and rings to selected jewellers in the UK.

Whilst well-known in France and other regions of Europe, the deal marks the first time the Caplain Saint Andre brand will be sold in the UK through manufacturers.

Greenwich de Rose is the UK distributor acting on Cookson's behalf, with the decision indicating a growing market in the UK for gold jewellery.

Caplain Saint Andre first entered the jewellery retail market back in 1823, with the French gold jewellery brand as it is recognised today, officially launched in 1980.
